  • Research is finding information from definite sources to answers a question or inform yourself of something
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
  • On the Bioboard project, I worked really hard to find the best imformation and pictures, and it payed off because my board turned out fabulous and I got a good grade.

1. I think the webbing process didn't help me find topics because I already had an idea of what I wanted to use, and I didn't need to use it.


3 - Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic (due Tuesday, April 8)
1. Topic:Don Quixote
2. Why you chose it: In Spanish, we are reading a cartoon version of this book, and I wanted to learn more about it
3. What you already know about your topic: Don Quixote is a very famous and important book in hoistory, and its author was so widely acclaimed that some countries' currency is named after him

  • What did this book mean to people when it was written?
  • Who wrote Don Quixote? When? How long did it take to write?
  • What was the author like? What did they think of the book?
  • What is the moral of the story? The reason?
  • Why are there two seperate books to make up "one big novel?" Were they written at different times?
  • How many times was the book edited and changed before its final copy? Why?
  • How many languages is it translated into? How many copies has it sold?
  • Why is it so highly acclaimed?


5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. The Pre-Notetaking process helped me learn how to form a good fat question. I think my ideas were good, and making the questions was fairly easy.

6 - Search Log (due Thursday, April 10)
1. I learned a lot about the author of Don Quixote today, Miguel de Cervantes, and his previous works
2. I have not had any problems so far because there is so much imformation about this book on the internet that I won't have any problems with finding things

4. Next, I plan on researching more on the book instead of the author.

7 - Search Log (due Friday, April 11)
1. Today I have learned some random facts about Don Quixote, but mostly re-did my bibliographies
2. I had World Book entered as a website instead of a database and couldn't change it
3. I deleted my old bibliographies and re-did them as databases
4. I think that I will continue research to answer my questions and find a print source to answer my fat question

8 - Search Log (due Monday, April 14)
1. I have leared a lot about the moral of Don Quixote
2. A problem I had was when I used a book scanned and put online, but it didn't coun't as a print source
3. I will use Don Quixote as the print source
4. I will find print and publish info on Don Quixote in the book
